Hello??? I thought I had LEFT the New York Metro Area. But, even so, here is Conrail GP7P 5677 (Ex-Central RR of NJ 1521) at the Museum of Transportation in Kirkwood, Missouri. April 1996

Also at the Museum of Transportation was ex-Conrail SD45 6072. The unit had been stripped of most of its Conrail paint, and its future was unknown to me at the time. However, this unit has now been fully restored to its original paint scheme and number, and is now Erie Lackawanna #3607

Amtrak F40PH #200, the first F40PH locomotive, sits at Amtrak's St. Louis station. These two pictures were taken in April of 1996, and the unit will run for one more year before being retired. Will this historic locomotive be preserved? Time will tell...

Also in April 1996, an interesting motive power lashup came through the TRRA's MacArthur District - A third generation locomotive (BNSF SD70MAC 9736), a second generation locomotive (Morrison Knudsen Leasing, ATSF F45), and a first generation locomotive (Grand Trunk GP9 4439). Weirder still, the SD70MAC was leading LONG HOOD forward... (Don't get any B-NS-F ideas from this now, folks!!!)

April 1997 sees another case of first generation/third generation locomotives. LMX Leasing B39-8E 8591 passes a retired C&NW Geep at Union Pacific's 23rd Street Yard

Southern Pacific SD40T-2 8265 hauls a freight over the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis' MacArthur Bridge and past Gratiot Tower in September 1996
